Moderation

Warnings, timeouts, jails, bans, purges and the case file behind them.

Every punishment writes a case: who, what, why, which moderator and when. That case is what the member sees in direct messages, what ;history reads back months later, and what an appeal is judged against. Nothing here needs an extra setup step except the mute and jail roles, which ;setup creates.

The commands fall into three families. Punishments (warn, mute, timeout, jail, kick, ban and their undo commands) take a member and an optional reason. Cleanup (purge and its filters, slowmode, lock, hide) works on a channel. Roles and nicknames (addrole, temprole, massnick, forcenickname) touch members without punishing them.

Worth knowing

Assigning a role needs the grief role above it. If mute or temprole silently does nothing, the role order is the reason.
Undo commands exist for every punishment: unmute, unjail, timeout clear, unban, warnclear. A punishment without its undo is a support ticket waiting to happen.
ignore keeps a member or channel out of moderation and logging. Use it for staff channels, ticket bots and your own alt.
